Creating a Compass connection​

Stage One: The Compass Platform​

Please note, when you hover when you move your cursor to the lower part of the arcade screen, navigation tabs will emerge. These tabs enable you to freely navigate through the tutorial at your convenience.

Obtaining the Credentials and Creating an API Token​

  1. Log in to Compass.

  2. Click the following link to create an API token.

  3. Click the Create API Token button.

  4. Provide a Name for your token.

  5. Copy and save the API Key, and store it in a safe place as you will require it for later on in the process.

  6. Click the Close button.

  7. Navigate to the Blink Platform, to crete your Compass Connection.

Stage Two : Blink Ops Platform​

  1. In the Blink platform, navigate to the Connections page > Add connection. A New Connection dialog box opens displaying icons of external service providers available.

  2. Select the Compass icon. A dialog box with name of the connection and connection method appears.

  3. Optional- Edit the name of the connection. At a later stage you cannot edit the name.

  4. Select API Token as the method to make the connection.

  5. Fill in the parameters:

    • The API address. This is the fully qualified name of your Compass workspace, without any pathname
    • The API token
    • The user's email

  6. Optional- Click Test Connection to test it.

  7. Click Create connection. The new connection appears on the Connections page.
