VMware vSphere VMware vSphere

VMware vSphere is a virtualization platform that enables you to run multiple operating systems on a single physical server. It consists of a suite of products that includes the ESXi hypervisor, vCenter Server for managing your virtual infrastructure, and vSphere Client for configuring and administering your virtual machines.

Creating a VMware vSphere connection

To create the connection you need:

  • API Address (the vSphere server URL)
  • Username
  • Password

Creating your connection

  1. In the Blink platform, navigate to the Connections page > Add connection. A New Connection dialog box opens displaying icons of external service providers available.
  2. Select the VMware vSphere icon. A dialog box with name of the connection and connection methods appear.
  3. (Optional) Edit the name of the connection. At a later stage you cannot edit the name.
  4. Select Username & Password as the method to make the connection.
  5. Fill in the parameters:
    • API Address
    • Username
    • Password
  6. (Optional) Click Test Connection to test it.
  7. Click Create connection. The new connection appears on the Connections page.
